    No first trial is perfect — a fitting weeps, a pump hums, a door sticks. Every fault is written into a snag list, corrected, and re-checked.     Handover

    Three tonnage figures often get confused. Gross tonnage measures total enclosed volume; net tonnage measures the useful cargo or passenger volume; displacement is the actual weight of water the hull displaces.
